FACTS ABOUT COMMON JEZEBELL BUTTERFLY 🦋
1. Scientific name : Delias eucharis
2. Common name : common jezebell
3. Identification marks : it is colourful butterfly which contains yellow colour bends in middle and red colour bands on the edge of the wing on ventral side with black borders. it is difficult to identify by one observation that it is male or female. Because if u want to know it is male or female u have to observe sharply. •Male: the upper side ( dorsal side ) Is white and the forewings contains veins with thin black borders comparing with female .
•Female: the upperside ( dorsal side ) similar colour with male. Females have thicker black borders off the veins than male in forewing and hindwing both .
4. Food plants : Loranthus ( parasitic plant )
5. Habitat : it is commonly seen in gardens. It is found wherever there are trees . Even in the cities . They flying high among the trees and visiting flowers. Females commonly seen flying amongst trees in search of food plants and males frequently observed visiting flowers for nector.

6. Life cycle:
• Eggs : laid in 10 to 20 numbers batches
• Larva: caterpillars are gregarious in first few instars. Caterpillars are yellow brown with black head and have white tubercles from which long white hair arise.
• Pupa : The is bright yellow coloured. It is marked with black spots and lines. It is attached to the underside of a leaf or branch or the other suitable surface by a robust tail pad and a decent body band.
• Adult : as passes from all above stage , it would become an adult . Description of adults and identification of male and female is already given in identification section.
7. Conservation status : commonly found all over india.
